Project outcome

Working together with Swanton Care, ACA has proposed a new-build Acquired Brain Injury facility in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The development includes a 40 bed development which has 10 independent living apartments and landscaped garden settings. It is foreseen that the construction of the development will commence during 2017.

The Design

ACA’s design works sympathetically with Swanton Care’s model of care which enables people to live a more independent life, with support when required. The layout is designed to offer interesting views of the surrounding landscaped garden from bedrooms and lounge/dining areas to add to the healing experience.

The extensions are characterized by contemporary design, built using traditional construction methods. Materials have been selected to respect the plain architecture of the local context yet introducing an innovative take in the use and proportion of the proposed materials to express the building form.
